1️⃣ Basic Word Order (Subject + Verb + Object)

Mandarin follows a simple structure:

Subject + Verb + Object

Examples:

  • ζˆ‘ε­¦δΉ ζ±‰θ―­ β€” I study Chinese

  • ζˆ‘ε–ζ°΄ β€” I drink water

  • 他吃ι₯­ β€” He eats (a meal)

πŸ“Œ This order is similar to English.


2️⃣ Using β€œζ˜―β€ (shΓ¬) β€” β€œto be.”

  • ζˆ‘ζ˜―ε­¦η”Ÿ β€” I am a student

  • δ»–ζ˜―θ€εΈˆ β€” He is a teacher

πŸ“Œ 是 is used to connect nouns.


3️⃣ Using β€œζœ‰β€ (yΗ’u) β€” β€œto have”

  • ζˆ‘ζœ‰δΉ¦ β€” I have a book

4️⃣ Asking Yes/No Questions

Add 吗 (ma) at the end of a sentence:

  • δ½ ε–ζ°΄ε—οΌŸ β€” Do you drink water?
